Passing of the Torch; Kristen Ritzau DDS Returns Home

The office of Dr. Kristen Ritzau is pleased to announce the opening of a new dental practice in San Clemente, CA after purchasing the building and practice from retiring dentist Dr. Jack Boatman, Jr. who served the local community for over 32 years.

Located just above the Cabrillo Playhouse in Downtown San Clemente at 122 Avenida Cabrillo, Dr. Ritzau looks forward to giving back to the community she was raised in by providing high quality dental care customized to her patients’ individual needs. Her office is committed to creating an atmosphere of compassion where her patients can feel relaxed and comfortable knowing they are receiving excellent treatment they can trust.

Dr. Ritzau (maiden name Kristen Moore, SCHS Class of 2002) is excited to move home, having been born and raised in San Clemente, to practice dentistry in the community where she grew up. She has been practicing dentistry in Riverside the last three years after previously attending dental school at UCLA and graduating first in her class in 2010.

On behalf of his patients, Dr. Ritzau honors Dr. Boatman with the a plaque for his 32 years of service to the community.

Dr. Boatman has decided to retire from practicing dentistry after 35 years as a practitioner including 32 here in San Clemente. He is excited to turn over his practice to another local dentist that shares his values of quality patient care and who also has deep ties within the city of San Clemente.

Open House/Retirement Celebration

May 11th Noon-3pm: The office of Dr. Ritzau will be hosting an Open House both to celebrate the efforts and service of Dr. Jack Boatman in San Clemente the last 32 years as well as provide the public an opportunity to meet Dr. Ritzau and view the upgraded equipment and technology that have been put in place in the office.

There will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new practice. Food and refreshments along with a number of door prizes valued over $3000 will be raffled out to those who attend.

Dr. Kristen Ritzau Biography

Dr. Kristen Ritzau was born and raised in San Clemente and is an alumnus of San Clemente High School. Born Kristen Moore, she is a third generation San Clemente local whose family moved here in the late 1950′s. Daughter of Jean (Fournier) Moore SCHS Class of 1978 and long-time City employee Larry Moore, Kristen highly values being a part of the San Clemente community.

Dr. Kristen Ritzau obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry, earning Summa Cum Laude honors and the Alpha Omega International Award as the top ranked graduate in her class. She was also elected by school faculty into the Omicron Kapa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society. While at UCLA, Kristen earned honors of excellence in the areas of Restorative Dentistry, Operative Dentistry, and Advanced Removable and Fixed Prosthodontics. She also served as the President of the RV Tucker Cast Gold Study Clubs and won awards the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Orofacial Pain, and the American Academy of Periodontology.

Kristen has also worked for several years as an associate for a great practice in Riverside, CA where she has been trained in Invisalign, Conscious Sedation Dentistry, and many other of the latest dental technological advances.

Kristen has also spent time using her skills on dental mission’s trips in Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico. She was also recognized by UCLA, being awarded the Wyatt Hume Scholarship for her community service in the local area.

In her free time Kristen enjoys running, playing soccer and beach volleyball, reading a good book, and walking with her husband Cory and golden retriever Brady on the beach trail.
